"Terror of History" is a song about loneliness and feelings of futility. For me, these feeling are linked to my art practice. Jimmy (the drummer of Kid Romance) wrote a song that I think is related to these feelings called "All for What?" With a world full of more people than it has ever been filled with, it is hard to know how one person's drawings or videos or life could effect the world that is already bursting full of more ideas than any one person could think of. I took these pictures about two years ago. They were supposed to be documents of things and moments that would never be documented otherwise. Taking a picture of a spider, for example, That is the only time that spider will ever have it's picture taken. The only document that exists of an entity. Does this make this spider more important than the rest? I dont know. But it makes it very lucky. So many people now are starting blogs. Furiously documenting the details of their lives, familys and friends. For me, it is in the hopes that people will become conduits, vestibules for the information that is broadcasted in this realm. In the hopes that if the ideas and images survive in people that the people, themselves will survive. The terror of history is that everything will be forgotten. In the same way that many of these photos are forgettable, dead moments.
Each image pictured here has it's own story. A story that is as full as the story of a life. As does every picture.
